A true ground up project, Tumbo was born in the minds of a couple of brothers and a few life long friends in search of the perfect getaway. When the call came in that one had found the spot, it didn’t take long until they were all making their way deep into the Costa Rican jungle.

After hours of travel and the use of just about every mode of transportation available, they stepped out onto a beach with a perfect wave peeling off in the distance and knew they were home.

Over the years, Tumbo has grown and molded to its surroundings. What was once simply a tent and a hammock has transformed into the ultimate tropical paradise. Hours of work and lots of love have yielded what Tumbo is today. A devotion to the area and its people has kept Tumbo thriving for the past 20 years.

It was not without the hard work and efforts of more people than could be mentioned that it has become one of the most unique and beautiful places in the world. For those whose time and love have helped build and forge the vibes that surround Tumbo it is enough to enjoy its spoils for a few days each year. Considered home to many people from around the globe, Tumbo is the epitome of collaboration, love, and beauty.
